Get to know the online language placement test. The tasks in the sample test are exactly the same type as those used in the placement test. You can repeat the sample test as often as you like and prepare yourself effectively.
The sample test consists of four texts that are slightly easier and are intended to help you familiarize yourself with the test format.
After you click on a version, the system checks whether your browser settings are optimally configured for the test. If any adjustments are required, you will receive information on which settings you can change.
Find answers to frequently asked questions about onSET: Where are the test centres? How do I get a TAN to take the test? Can I take onSET in German and English on the same day?
onSET lets you determine your level of German or English. Once you have registered with g.a.s.t., simply book a test date using the TAN provided by your chosen test centre. Your certificate is available in the g.a.s.t. portal for test takers as soon as you have completed the test.
Have you taken onSET? You score one point for each gap you complete correctly, up to a maximum of 160 points. Your score determines your CEFR level, from A2 to C1.
