g.a.s.t. test centres

Quality, service and international cooperation

As a licensed g.a.s.t. test centre, your institution is part of an international network comprising around 1,000 test centres worldwide. You administer the onSET in accordance with uniform quality standards and benefit from reliable, standardised and fair language assessment.
Test centres play a crucial role in supporting universities, language centres and educational institutions in their language work and serve as the central point of contact for test takers.

Whether you wish to apply for a licence or are already part of the network, g.a.s.t. supports you with clear guidance, personalised assistance, as well as information and promotional material to ensure the successful administration of the onSET and all other g.a.s.t.

Your responsibilities as a licensed test centre

g.a.s.t. test centres take on the following duties:

  • Conducting g.a.s.t. examinations in accordance with g.a.s.t.’s standards and guidelines
  • Organising the scheduling of exams, checking technical requirements and informing participants
  • Ensuring test security and compliance with all quality standards
  • Providing advice to prospective candidates and participants
  • Promoting the exams using free materials provided by g.a.s.t. as well as your own communication initiatives
  • Participating in the testing of new exam questions

With expert guidance as well as information and promotional materials, g.a.s.t. supports you in offering onSET, expanding your range of examinations and service portfolio, and strengthening your centre’s profile.

Testing new test items

Developing quality together

A high-quality language test is not created exclusively at a desk, but equally in practice. Hence, new onSET test items are piloted under real exam conditions before they are used. Only after successful evaluation are they incorporated into the regular test.

The participation of test centres in this process is a crucial contribution to the quality assurance and further development of the onSET. In this way, you help ensure that the results remain fair, valid and comparable worldwide.

g.a.s.t. works closely with licensed test centres during the piloting phase. Within a specified timeframe, you may flexibly offer your own piloting dates and easily involve suitable participants – for example, from language courses or university preparatory programmes.

Your benefits from taking part in the trials

  • Insight into the scientific and technical quality development of the onSET
  • Routine in test administration and optimisation of internal processes
  • Valuable practice opportunities for participants under real-life test conditions without any assessment relevant to the actual exam
  • Active involvement in the international network of g.a.s.t. test centres

g.a.s.t. is actively involved in national and international professional associations such as ALTE, EALTA, Eaquals, ILTA and ITC. Professional exchange and recognised quality standards help us continuously develop our tests and assure their quality.
