The onSET is a language placement test based on the C-test format. It is offered worldwide and assesses the general language proficiency in German and English. It provides reliable results for course placement, guidance and orientation.

The onSET is administered computer-based at licensed g.a.s.t. test centres. Results are available immediately after the test.

The sample test gives you an introduction to the onSET and the C-test format. Its structure and format are the same as those of the actual test, but the sample test is shorter and easier. You can choose either the German or the English version of the test.

Once you are registered, you will receive your transaction number (TAN), which you need to book your test.
Choose a test centre, an available date, and your test language.
Sit the onSET at your test centre of choice. Your result is available immediately after the test.
Your certificate is available as a PDF in the g.a.s.t. portal for participants.
